#SheridanWorks – Celebrating Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Month
Date: Mar. 1, 2026 – Mar. 31, 2026
March is National Co-op and Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Month, an initiative led by Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning (CEWIL) Canada that celebrates the role of hands-on learning in preparing students for meaningful careers.
At Sheridan, WIL is a cornerstone of the student experience. Through co-op work terms, internships, field placements, mandatory professional practices and apprenticeships, students apply classroom learning in real-world settings, build in-demand skills and form connections that shape their futures.
Why WIL Month matters
WIL Month is a time to pause, reflect and recognize the impact of learning through work, whether you’re exploring career paths, supporting student learning or partnering with Sheridan to develop future talent.
Each year, more than 7,000 Sheridan students across more than 90 programs participate in WIL experiences. These experiences support the development of Career Catalysts — foundational competencies that are linked to successful performance on the job.
These opportunities are made possible through strong collaboration between students, faculty, employers and community partners — all working together to connect learning with work.
WIL builds through employer and industry partnerships
Sheridan works closely with employers and industry partners to create meaningful work-integrated learning experiences that benefit both students and workplaces. By investing in these partnerships, we're building capacity for WIL across our community and expanding opportunities for students while strengthening the talent pipelines that support organizations today and into the future.
This collaborative approach provides employers with access to emerging talent, fresh perspectives and opportunities to help share the skills and capabilities of the future workforce. Together, we're strengthening the partnerships and opportunities that allow work-integrated learning to grow and create lasting impact for students, employers, and our communities. This collaboration is central to our Career-Integrated Learning approach — and to why #SheridanWorks.
