Mark Orlando is Associate Dean of the School of Applied Computing at the Trafalgar Campus. Mark began his journey at Sheridan in 2001 as a professor in the School of Computing and Information Management teaching Systems Analysis. He has held several progressively responsible positions within the College since that time including Academic Advisor, Program Coordinator, Chair of FAST Local Academic Council, and Associate Dean, School of Applied Computing.
Prior to coming to Sheridan, Mark worked in industry as a project manager and business systems analyst. Mark has brought that real-world experience to his many roles at Sheridan. As a professor, he has participated in industry driven applied research projects using indoor location-based frameworks. He has contributed to several cross college of committees. Mark has led several program initiatives including new Degree offerings, new Ontario College Graduate Certificates, Micro credentials and student retention projects.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and a Master of Science in Information Systems from Athabasca University where his research focus was Agent-Based Artificial Intelligence Systems.
