Enactus Sheridan has once again demonstrated the power of student-driven innovation after taking home three top placements at the 2025 Central Regional Exposition in Mississauga, Ont. and three awards at the 2025 National Exposition in Calgary, Alberta.
Competing against 76 teams from across Canada, the Sheridan team impressed judges with its focus on solving real-world problems through entrepreneurial thinking and a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.

“I joined Enactus Sheridan in August 2024, as I’ve always liked to be in competitive environments where I could push myself to build and grow skillsets,” explains Allen Abraham (Marketing Management, ’25), a Project Manager at Enactus Sheridan. “When I heard of the scale of Enactus regionals and Nationals Expositions and the efforts Sheridan was putting into them, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to participate.
The team’s success was anchored by three standout projects that addressed pressing issues in financial literacy, housing and youth employment. FinFlare, a financial education initiative designed to make financial literacy fun and accessible, was awarded first runner-up in the Desjardins Youth Empowerment Challenge.

For Fernando, a Marketing Executive at Enactus Sheridan, the opportunity to both present and network at the events made it an easy choice to participate.
“I joined (Enactus) to make a difference in the community, but it gave so much more. Being able to present (at the Central Regional Exposition) was a life-changing experience filled with learning, growth and unforgettable connections.”
In the Enactus Canada Alumni Innovation and Impact Challenge, Sheridan’s Uni-verse project also placed as first runner-up. Developed to address the student housing crisis, Uni-verse offers a roommate matching prototype focused on wellness and community support. Project leaders Allen Abraham and Samiksha Sehgal (Advertising Account Management, ’25) showcased how the tool aims to improve student living experiences across campuses.
Another highlight was the Learn2Earn project, which secured second runner-up in the TD Entrepreneurship Challenge. Designed to bridge the gap between education and employment, the initiative provided weekly skills training and helped create 40 part-time jobs, benefiting nearly 200 students. The project was presented by VP of Marketing Ayushi Prajapati (Marketing Management and Advertising Account Management, ’24) and team co-president Drishti Kothari (Marketing Management, ’24).
Kothari, who was also a Top 10 finalist for the Women Leader of the Year award, believes that her leadership experience at Enactus Sheridan will serve her well in her future endeavors and has “made her a better leader for tomorrow.”

Much of the team’s growth and development has been supported by longtime faculty advisors Professor Garrett Hall and Dr. Connie Stevens, who have guided Enactus Sheridan for over eight years.
Hall, a Professor of Digital Marketing with over 30 years of industry experience, also mentors at Sheridan’s EDGE Entrepreneurship Hub, while Dr. Stevens, a Professor in Sheridan’s Office Administration – Health Services, brings deep healthcare expertise to her guidance.
